How to post an assignment onto Google Classroom

28/3/2017

When your teacher sets up an assignment for you to complete, you will see the a post similar to the one here on your Google Classroom.

Once you click open, you will be lead to this page where you are able to upload your work.

There are two main ways your teacher may want you to hand in your work: either handing in the document they have made for you, or you uploading a document you have made.

If your teacher has provided a Google Doc for you:
  1. Click on the file
  2. Do your work
  3. Come back to the page shown above
  4. Click hand in
*IMPORTANT* if your teacher has uploaded a Word document, then you must download the file, and follow the steps below. The steps above are only for Google docs as Google docs save all changes online, allowing your teacher to see the work YOU do on THEIR document.

If you have to upload your own file:
  1. Click on the “ADD” button
  2. Choose where you are uploading your file from (‘Google drive’ if it is in your Google drive, ‘File’ if it is on your computer)
  3. Once you have chosen all the files you want to upload, click “upload"
  4. You will now see your file is ready to be handed in
  5. Click the ‘x’ button on the right hand side of the file if you uploaded the wrong file
  6. Now click hand in

If your work has been successfully handed in, the right hand corner of the teachers post will say “done”.

Also, you can know if your teacher has marked and returned your work in a similar manner.

If you like, you can ‘unsubmit’ your work if you need anything to change by clicking “open” again. However, any work that is re-submitted after the due date will be marked as “late”.
